LG KP500 Cookie Review
8 Apr, 2010 | Category: LG
LG KP500 Cookie launched in February 2009, is one of the most successful Korean company’s terminal. The model is available in four colors: silver (Anodizing Silver), green (Capri Green), Pink (Pink), Black (Black). Models are by far the cheapest touchscreen phone, with an excellent list of features. No wonder they’re so popular, many users have waited for months. LG demonstrates once again that can make an excellent phone, customer appreciation drawing.
Differences between KP501 and KP500 are extremely small. Both models start from the same hardware and software. In appearance, KP501 has some smaller buttons in front and comes in a richer range of colors. Also, KP501 phone is sold exclusively by Orange. When it comes to choose a phone with touch screen, because Cookie earn very low price.
LG Cookie is a candybar that measures 106.5 x 55.4 x 11.9 mm and weighs 89 g. The front screen is occupied by 3-inch touchscreen with 240 x 400 pixels and 256,000 colors. Above the screen we find the speaker phone, but not the light sensor and secondary VGA camera for video conferencing, which usually exist in all phones.
LG has opted for a big screen with good resolution. Although the phone is made entirely of plastic, looks very solid and gives the impression of quality. There are parts that squeak, very good battery cover is closed. Quality construction makes you think that phone is more expensive than in reality. The front is covered with large 3-inch screen and found the LG logo at the top, as speaker. Below the screen is only 3 buttons. They are used to answer / reject calls and to access the menu.
The right side is a microSD card slot up to 16GB, which is protected with a soft plastic cap against dust and other impurities. Below is the keypad lock button and key for the camera. These buttons are not very ergonomic. Relief are not enough out so that they are hard pressed. You must use the fingertip to press them.
On the left side is the volume control key. This button controls the camera zoom, when it started. Here is the port for connecting accessories (handsfree, data cable). It is covered with a plastic lid, as if the memory card slot. The phone has a place where you can hang a hand strap. As discourage you better in the menus, and Cookie is stylus. It lies hidden in the phone casing and you can remove the lower right corner. Also at the bottom is the microphone. At the top there is no button or slot.
Dorsal part is occupied by 3-megapixel camera. Charge the battery cover half of the dorsal and like the rest of the shell is made of plastic. Here to note that the battery is under the cap. LG Cookie is powered by a standard lithium-ion battery with 900mAh capacity, which in theory hold in standby mode about 350 hours and up to four hours of talks.
LG KP500 Cookie is not a smartphone, with no operating system such as Symbian or Windows Mobile. Is still an LG own operating system, which is optimized for touch screen. Graphical interface is made in Flash and is similar to that of Renoir KC910 phone. Interface looks great, with lots of animation and transition effects. It responds quickly to commands, I have not seen at all sites delay. Support widgets, you can add simple and quick. Here we saw a very interesting effect. If you do not align perfectly widgets, it is enough to shake a little phone and using the accelerometer, Cookie, will feel the motion and will automatically align.
Agenda is limited to 1000 contacts. You can add a lot of information for each of them. You can organize them into groups and each of the contacts can add a photo and a ringtone. If a person’s birth date adds to the details, the phone automatically creates an event in the calendar, which will announce the time. Contactelele can be displayed either on phone or SIM card. Saying that LG KP500 / KP501 Cookie support widgets. Most useful are analog clock, FM radio, music player, writing pad, slide your pictures, a clock that shows time in many places around the globe and a calendar.
Chapter posts, cookies sit very well, whether you need to send SMS, MMS or email. You will use the virtual QWERTY keyboard. It is only available in widescreen mode. If you hold the phone in portrait mode, you have only alphanumeric keypad. Unfortunately, the screen is relatively small, so we did not write only with fingers. I found more accurate and faster to use the stylus. Seemed interesting feature handwriting recognition. Although I might not be much faster if I write so I did some tests and I can say that the phone has too many errors of recognition. Email client is easy to configure and use. Although not too advanced functions, lets you quickly check your POP3 email accounts / IMAP / SMTP.
Music player’s LG Cookie is presented well, even if a terminal is dedicated to music. The volume buttons can change the physical side, located on the right side or through the player interface. For this mode, you must activate utilizaroul sound through tactile key to control the player through the screen. Also among the key touch where there is alpha and volume buttons Repeat and Shuffle. Playback of sound is decent headphones, but kept below the maximum. Between levels 25 to 30 will be accompanied by a sound zuruit annoying. The terminal has equalizer and it will help regulate the sound. Unfortunately, Cookie’s headphones are standard earbuds go, without bulbs, and these models would be uncomfortable for users with smaller ears. Also, transformer problem with 3.5 mm jack was not resolved in the case of cookies. Find the thread headsets for hands-free site without transformer for a standard 3.5 mm connector. Phone’s music player only supports MP3, WMA and AAC. Stored songs can be sorted by album, artist or genre and can form their own playlists. LG Supported video formats are mp4 and 3gp Cookies.
The phone has only 50 MB of internal memory, so you really need a memory card to put your few songs or videos. Fortunately, you can put a microSD card up to 16GB.
Cookie’s camera sensor is 3 megapixels, no autofocus or flash. The terminal is capable of recording QVGA video at 12 fps and video capture are saved in MP4 format. Camera lens is unprotected, so making them an easy target for amprete or dirt. The camera is activated automatically by dedicated button on the right side.
Another drawback found in the navigation interface of the camera. System it is not easy, and few effects which are not able to urge the shooting modes menu. For example, they will be found in camera settings, the icon in the top left corner and a wheel prinr grained representation.
Chapter connectivity cookie not sit too well, because no 3G or WiFi. Internet browsing speed is very weak. The phone has USB and Bluetooth, however, that you can connect to a PC or handsfree. Bluetooth A2DP support, so you can listen to some stereo music wirelessly.
If it misses, data transfer will be made by the special program, which is on the CD package. Unlike other versions of the application, it will not recognize the problems with the installation and the phone quickly.

LG KP500 Cookie is a very good mid-range terminal. Chapter appearance scores, especially music player and touch screen. Rapid response and use the menu to make it one of the best cookies mid-range phones with touch screen today.
It depunctat still a lack of autofocus and flash, but these things can be even ignored, Cookie was not a dedicated camera phone. The biggest advantage of the phone price-quality ratio is very balanced and cookies worth the money.

i believe it was a bit rushed, and disregarded some options that not many individuals talk about. Everybody is aware of that the majority new smartphones have web, so why present that primary operate at its bear minimum. Scroll up scroll down zoom in zoom out. Really? which new telephone doesnt do this? How bout speak about how the text rearranges itsself. Also the texting, very poor review. Why didnt you mention you should use the mic and text along with your voice? Left out ALOT of other extra vital features

My lovely new LG Cookie no longer looks as appealing since another person looks to have been able to hack into my cell phone and access the world wide web even though I’m asleep. I purchased it from the O2 shop and have an O2 sim card. O2 are certainly not at all beneficial but over £42 worth of credit may be sucked out of my pre-paid account. Any tips about in which I can locate out how to solve this difficulty?
