HTC Magic Review

HTC Magic ReviewA telelefon that looks cool and has a new operating system is enough to attract attention even a pro in the latest techniques. However, HTC Magic is not something revolutionary, but still promises to be a new experience.
For starters, the Android site shows how it can be human. Formidable G1 / HTC Dream will need all the weight to stand out. With a low weight and looks much more normal, HTC Magic wants to play by conventional rules of a touchscreen. And maybe to sell heavily. Compact, with a distinctive style, functionality and decent as open-source operating system, HTC Magic seems to keep pace with both technology and with the smart phone. So how can you call an improved platform and a gadget that looks good and is also quite creative? We can say that good taste, but who knows, it might have something magical.

HTC’s Magic Box is sized and contain only strictly necessary accessories. We found a miniUSB cable, handsfree headset, charger and a leather pouch. The phone is available in two colors, black and white. You have a 2GB microSD card with the phone.

The phone falls into the normal range for a smartphone. Has a length of 113 mm and a width of 55.56 mm and 13.65 mm thick only. Weight does not exceed more than 116 grams. It is very comfortable in your pocket or palm of sensation in her hand and using it is very pleasant.

HTC Magic ReviewThe phone design is excellent. HTC has paid great attention to detail. Even if the achievement was only used plastic casing is a plastic quality, solid and pleasant to the touch. The surfaces are glossy, but resists fingerprints very well. Shapes are rounded, making the phone look so good.

The front of the phone is dominated by 3.2-inch touchscreen, which is under six buttons and trackball navigation menus. Few phones use a trackball, this “enhancement” was so far characteristic BlackBerry sites. BlackBerry users are delighted with the ease of navigating the menus with the trackball. Even if Magic is your touchscreen will certainly use the trackball you want to choose something from a menu. It quickly and accurately.

Android operating system used by Google, namely version 1.5. Google G1 Android is version 1.0, but 1.5 comes with several improvements. Android’s really good, fall in love with him as easily as the iPhone OS. The menus are intuitive, very quickly get used to use them.

Android is incredibly good, especially considering that was only launched two years ago. Compared with Windows Mobile and full years of seniority that has them back and wonder if Microsoft knows how to make software and if you keep in touch with customer desires. After a week with this phone I decided it’s time to quit all Windows Mobile and switching to Android. It’s so good.

An advantage of operating system is how you can customize the phone display. Of three desktops (three on Magic, Hero has increased the number 7), the master and another to the left and right respectively. And they can put the shortcuts or widgets you want, free descarcandu them via Android Market. A widget that tells you the exact amount of the battery? No problem (about 10 variants are even).

HTC’s agenda allows you to add any contacts. Can you devise a lot of details for each one, such as phone numbers, address or email. To find a book person, the easiest is to press the search button and write her first characters of the name.

HTC Magic knows how to work with all types of messages: SMS, MMS and email. You can use the virtual QWERTY keyboard both portrait and also in landscape mode. Obviously, the landscape mode is much more appropriate if you are writing. Copy & paste function is implemented by the phone software, so you can send SMS or email links or text copied from other applications (such as web browser). SMS and MMS editor is the same, to send an MMS, just add a media file in the message.

Email client is great, it lets you sort and search messages by several criteria. If you email to Gmail, you can easily configure your email box (just say they are utilziator name and password). Gmail integrates very well in phone software, so I will announce as soon as you get new messages.

Picture gallery and video gallery are integrated into one application. Browse pictures and videos is easy and pleasant. Obviously, you can see them both in portrait and landscape.

Music player recognize audio files AAC, AAC +, AMR-NB, MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC-LC, MIDI, OGG, meaning all popular formats. Music sounds good, but the big disadvantage is you have to use headphones in the package. You have no 3.5mm jack, so you can connect your headphones. Converters can be found at miniUSB to 3.5mm jack, but do not know how many have the patience to look and buy.

If you expect to have Magic FM, will be disappointed. Phone borrow “usually good” for the iPhone and does not implement this function.

The camera has 3.2 megapixels and autofocus. Captures images at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. As Google’s G1 lacks flash. It means that you can not make pictures in the dark. At the bottom of the camera’s five application shortcuts to camera settings: contrast, brightness etc.. Chamber has geotagging, though the phone has GPS. Photographs are good for a 3.2 megapixel camera, nice colors and details are clear.

HTC Magic ReviewHTC Magic knows how to record video, but only at QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) with 15 fps. From this point of view, is far behind other sites smarphone who know how to shoot at least VGA at 30 fps. Video files can be saved in MP4 or 3GP.

Magic is an HTC phone specially made to stay connected to the Internet. Whether you need WiFi or you need GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, your phone has and makes available.

Web browser is excellent, moving fast and renders pages excellent. Or less the biggest is the lack of Flash support, but confirmed that Adobe is working on a version of Flash for Android. Web browser based on the same Webkit engine used by Google Chrome, and Safari browser on Symbian S60. You can browse multiple pages simultaneously, and the transition between pages is easy. You can zoom the text’s font so small is not a problem. The browser is optimized for touch usage, so you do not need the stylus.

Conclusions

Is distinguished by:

  • Android operating system v1.5 Cupcake
  • Touchscreen display * 3.2 “HVGA resolution
  • Processor Qualcomm MSM 7201A 528 MHz, 192/288 MB RAM
  • Quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE
  • 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g
  • GPS
  • Does Trackball Navigation
  • Accelerometer
  • Digital Compass
  • Compact and stylish

Disappoint us by:

  • No room for video calls
  • Your browser does not support Flash
  • You can not transfer files via Bluetooth FM Radio No

In conclusion, HTC Magic is a phone with a nice design, very suitable for a person to come over the phone or Internet using Google intensive applications. Unfortunately, not up to expectations in terms of the media. It is possible that some of the problems to be solved with software updates for the Android site is still in its beginnings.

Just find where the files are saved and use a flash drive or a portable hard drive. If you are a bit tech savvy you could use a crossover cable, that would be the fastest
